Just when you thought LinkedIn couldn’t provide more innovative features for your wealth management firm, the website raised the bar.
Recently, LinkedIn announced the development of Showcase Pages, which allow large companies to tailor the right content to the right audiences. In a nutshell, this means that everything from wealth management firms to software companies can create pages that are dedicated to specific areas of their business. From here, they can market these individual pages to the appropriate target markets.
“Creating valuable content begins by understanding what content your audience is interested in and already consuming, and filling in the gaps,” Josh Graff, head of marketing solutions at LinkedIn, told The Drum. “There are more than three million companies leveraging their Company Page to promote content and build relationships with members, and Showcase Pages will allow them to enhance that experience even further by strategically dividing their content to become even more relevant for their audiences.”
How will Showcase Pages impact users?
The first question at the forefront of LinkedIn users’ minds is, “How will this affect me?” As Mashable explains, this likely won’t have a dramatic impact on the everyday LinkedIn user. However, it will make it easier for individuals to find the content they’re looking for when they’re scoping out specific goods and services.
From a business standpoint, large enterprises like Microsoft now have an opportunity to reach out to users who are seeking specialized products. For example, Microsoft can target people interested in Office through a Showcase Page and simultaneously provide insight to audiences interested in Windows 8 with a different one.
As it stands, companies can create up to 10 Showcase Pages, but LinkedIn is willing to work with large enterprises that have the manpower to operate beyond the maximum.
LinkedIn company page administrators can create a Showcase Page by going to the “Edit” dropdown menu and selecting “Create a Showcase Page.” Once it has been made, users can immediately start sharing content. LinkedIn’s analytics tool can be utilized to track the progress of the page.
