The end of the year always serves as a time of reflection — a chance to look back at what we accomplished, and what we hope to do in the new year. For myself, this year included a big change — I started my journey as Seismic’s Chief People Officer in July. It’s been an incredible ride so far, one that only gets better with today’s news: Seismic was named a 2021 Top Workplace by The Boston Globe and The San Diego Union-Tribune.
We’re honored to be selected as a top workplace for the greater San Diego and Boston communities, where we’ve had Seismic presence since our founding. The Top Workplace award requires organizations to collect employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection.
As we take a moment to celebrate this accomplishment, I can’t help but feel overwhelming gratitude for our employees in San Diego and Boston, as well as our employees in our other 11 offices and home offices around the world. Our people are our most important asset and they make Seismic a great place to work. We win because of our people.
As 2021 moves to the rearview and we look ahead to 2022, I’m excited to roll out new programs and policies that we believe will not only make Seismic a great company to work for, but also a place where people want to stay and build their career. Last month, we announced several enhancements that focus on meeting our employees where they are, in the moments that matter.
What exactly does this mean? Supporting our team during moments that matter is centered around four key pillars:
- Enabling personalized employee experiences
- Engaging a global diverse workforce
- Improving and operationalizing systems and processes
- And lastly, underscoring the above pillars with a focus on culture, grounded in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
With employees working remotely for the better part of the last two years, it’s given us an opportunity to listen and learn what they’re seeking from their employer. Time for family, connecting at work, and caring for the whole person were three overarching themes in our team’s feedback. Among the new announcements, several of the more notable policies and programs coming to our U.S. employees in 2022 include benefits centered around the themes we heard from our employees:
- Flexible Time Off (FTO), which enables employees to take the time off they need, when they need it
- Enhanced fertility benefits for IVF and egg freezing
- New six week paid family caregiver leave to care for a sick parent, spouse or child
- New partnership with Quantum Health, a one-stop-shop care coordination and advisor program for all benefit needs
This is just a sneak peek of how Seismic’s People Operations team is working to support our employees through the moments that matter.
