If your office is anything like the Seismic office, anticipation of the 2014 NFL season is the hottest topic of conversation. Whether it’s Fantasy leagues, starting quarterback predictions or final rosters, we’ve probably covered it. But there was one debate we couldn’t agree on: whose coaching style is superior, Bill Belichick’s of the New England Patriots, or Pete Carroll’s of the Seattle Seahawks?

Both of these coaches are undoubtedly very successful, but their approaches to coaching, leading, recruiting and preparing are very different. Our dispute decided that neither coach’s strategy is better than the other, but that both have redeeming qualities that have led their teams to triumph.

The same can be said for sales leaders. No single approach to leading is the right one; it all depends on your team’s goals and overarching culture.
