BYOD creates one big melting pot of technology at your company. To make sure that you always have a grasp on how it’s being used within your network, create a user policy and make it accessible. Let people know what they can and can’t do with their devices when accessing company information.
4. Assign a leader
If you don’t have the time to stay on top of your BYOD policy as CIO, make sure there’s someone in your company who can do it. Keeping a close eye on BYOD is essential to maintaining security over time.
5. Don’t forget about apps
As apps are developed, you’ll need to keep BYOD in mind. Because people use multiple devices with various interfaces, it’s critical to create apps that function according to these different technologies.
Giving employees more options can keep them happy, and BYOD falls in line with this philosophy. That being said, there still needs to be some order to sustain structure in the workplace, and this responsibility falls into your hands as CIO.
