Did you know that only 45% of healthcare employees in a recent Data Conversion Laboratory Inc. survey answered yes to having an effective content strategy in place? Managing the increasing volume of content and formats in the healthcare industry is making the migration to a content management system essential, yet companies remain far behind.

The Data Conversion Laboratory (DCL) is an industry leader in organizing and converting content into digital formats, in association with The Rockley Group. According to their research, companies in the life sciences and healthcare industries are struggling to provide accurate and consistent information to their patients because they have difficulty locating the material.

Regulatory requirements and shared documents are always changing amongst healthcare professionals. The biggest problems these people are facing include different formats, inconsistencies, inaccuracies and translations within their content. In fact, 95% of healthcare professionals cite consistent inaccuracies in data.

So what’s the hold up?

Healthcare companies are worried about the time it will take to implement a new content management system, and are caught up in the price tag that comes along with it.

This being said, finding the right content management tool that can easily locate and deliver content across multiple channels is a much more efficient practice than simple document organization. The migration will become a key step to preserving sanity in making an organizations content manageable.

As companies expand, their content will continue to grow rapidly and issues will only worsen. Along with this, professionals need to start meeting all the multi-platform delivery changes in order to keep their customers satisfied. Implementing a tool that connects data to content is becoming crucial.
