But the consulting and research space is dominated by giants. Everest Group’s top competitors are sprawling, complex organizations that often have anywhere from 3X to 30X more employees.

The solution

Over the years, Everest Group’s marketing team has developed a sophisticated traditional and digital marketing program that includes public relations to SEO to webinars to email marketing to social, and everything in between. But to keep punching above its weight as it continues to grow, Everest Group wanted another powerful way to reach new people and stay top of mind with others.

“We know that research and consulting have long sales cycles, which require a lot of touch points with our prospects. So, we don’t just need to stand out. We need to demonstrate our relevance often. We speak at—and attend—a lot of conferences. We get quoted as experts in newspapers and other publications. But we needed something else to create awareness and make people want to learn more,” Peter explains.

Then, Everest Group’s newly hired Chief Commercial Officer, Shawn Robertson, recommended trying a social engagement program. The idea was that by empowering employees to curate and share personalized content on social platforms (especially LinkedIn), those employees could simultaneously enhance their own impact and reputations and increase business for Everest Group too.

To cut through the noise, Everest Group implemented LiveSocial, which allowed employees to post relevant content chosen from a personalized stream of brand and third-party content, directly to LinkedIn and Twitter. With a quick and easy way to curate content for social, Everest Group’s employees became more engaged and empowered to leverage a social selling strategy and increase their thought leadership through social media.

Results

Increased web traffic and revenue growth

Over the years, Everest Group’s marketing team has developed a sophisticated traditional and digital marketing program that includes public relations to SEO to webinars to email marketing to social, and everything in between. But to keep punching above its weight as it continues to grow, Everest Group wanted another powerful way to reach new people and stay top of mind with others.

“Web traffic generated from social has gone up 70% and overall web traffic has increased too. Bounce rate for traffic from social has gone down by 57%. What that shows us is that more qualified visitors are showing up, and that translates into more people engaging with our content and ultimately sales. We attribute most of that volume to LiveSocial,” Peter says.

In fact, while other consulting and research firms experienced some hardships in 2020, Everest Group has continued to grow. More web presence has led to increased opportunities, and Everest Group’s overall revenue has grown by an astounding 38% year-over-year.

Peter compares Everest Group’s improved social presence to a group of people singing. One person singing is great, but it won’t get heard by as many people. Whereas an entire stadium singing in unison can be heard from miles away.

Peter loves helping his employees find their voice. He firmly believes that empowering people to build their own presence and reputation is the best way to also build the company presence and reputation in an extremely powerful and authentic way.
