Seismic and AIIM Release Report: ‘Content Collaboration and Processing in a Cloud and Mobile World’

Boston, Mass., March 26, 2014. Seismic, the only platform that enables LiveDoc creation for brand-approved, real-time enterprise content management, has sponsored a study with the Association for Information and Image Management on “Content Collaboration and Processing in a Cloud and Mobile World.”

This study takes a look at the importance of business collaboration in addition to the tools that enhance the process. Seismic and AIIM discovered that 93 percent of business leaders believe that internal collaboration is crucial to what they do. About 59 percent of respondents say that external collaboration is just as important.

“Most organizations now have a large ecosystem of collaborators, including external partners and third parties as well as internal staff,” said Doug Miles, Director Market Intelligence at AIIM. “But managing the tools required for such collaboration can be a challenge. While IT support for collaboration beyond the firewall has made great advances, organizations appear to be lacking in the support required to really reap the benefits of collaboration.”

Approximately 37 percent of the participants surveyed claimed that the ability to access data from mobile devices was essential to their collaboration efforts. Nearly 74 percent said that the sharing of documents was critical in the process.

The data for this study was collected from 464 members of AIIM in the beginning of 2014.
