The Interfaces and Integrations Strategic Area is responsible for developing the Seismic Everywhere strategy which enables Seismic to go where our users are and creates deep experiences between suites of products both internal to Seismic and with our partners. Our teams also develop tools that allow third party vendors and clients to extend, expand and automate Seismic.  This position will involve supporting several teams that develop Integrations, leading our API First architecture and supporting the Seismic App Marketplace.  You will also work closely with architects and developers in other teams to ensure all products follow API First and Seismic Everywhere best practices.

Candidates for this senior role will typically have at least 12+ years experience.  The purpose of this role is to drive the long term architecture of the Seismic Integration strategy that prepares us for future growth. 

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Architecture
    • You know the difference between GraphQL and REST and where they fit in a modern architecture. API first is your preferred paradigm.
    • You've used many architecture patterns in the past, can explain them and know where they break down
    • You will help shape the architectural vision and roadmap for the Interfaces and Integrations Strategic Area and work with other architects and organization
  • Collaboration
    • You will work with architects in other strategic areas to understand requirements, constraints and ensure that designs adhere to our Seismic standards.  
    • A strong peer review culture is incredibly important to us. Everyone strives to improve every day, and both our code and design review processes are vital to this goal.  
  • Engineering 
    • Architecture can not occur in a vacuum.  You need to get your hands dirty in the code to make sure that you are setting the right strategic direction.
    • You excel in the back-end. Backend engineering at Seismic includes the following tech; C#, PostgreSQL, Node, Redis, Kubernetes
    • You are comfortable in the Front end. At Seismic this includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React and LiveScript.
    • Bonus points if you have familiarity integrating with CRM, Collaboration, or Email Apps Tools
  • Mentoring and Leadership
    • You will help make those around you smarter.
    • You will lead through influence both within your team and across teams.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Experience
    • This is not your first trip around the block.  There are always new things to learn, but most problems have a shape that you have seen in the past
    • You know that the answer to most architecture questions is “It depends” and you know what the dependencies are.
    • You have worked in a cloud agnostic environment or have knowledge of multiple clouds.
    • You have a strong background developing microservice architectures, high volume processing solutions, web-based and API driven applications.

    • You like to solve problems and it is the primary means in which you bring value to the organization.  
  • Communication
    • You are able to translate the non-technical business needs into a clear technical action plan seamlessly.
    • You are able to share your ideas across different teams and take feedback from multiple stakeholders.
