Sr. Director, Head of Monetization & Pricing Strategy

As the senior director and head of monetization & pricing strategy, you will be responsible for leading monetization strategy for all Seismic’s products and solutions. You will build and develop a small team that crafts and implements data-driven and customer-centric strategies that accelerate revenue growth, align to evolving market trends, and maintain a competitive advantage. In this critical role, you will drive the definition of our overall portfolio monetization strategy, build strong relationships with and effectively present to our executives, and lead data analysis to proactively identify new monetization opportunities. You’ll continuously strive to simplify pricing constructs to reduce friction in the sales process. As a senior, hands-on leader, you’ll partner with our executive team as well as leaders and stakeholders across Product, Product Marketing, Finance, Sales, Customer Success, Global Operations and Legal.

 

This role reports to the Vice President, Product Marketing and is a highly visible leadership role which will have a significant impact on Seismic’s long-term, profitable growth.

 

What you will be doing

  • Own Seismic’s overall portfolio monetization framework that balances customer impact and Seismic’s growth objectives to guide short- and long-term decisions
  • Maintain, drive executive alignment on, and provide regular visibility into monetization roadmap and progress
  • Use your strong understanding of Seismic’s target audience, product value prop, and competitors to craft and/or guide the creation of value-based monetization strategies for new and existing products and solutions
  • Independently create executive-ready presentations to influence executives across multiple teams to gain alignment
  • Build and run the governance & approval process for pricing & packaging changes
  • Partner with Global Ops, Finance, Legal, Enablement and other teams to implement pricing changes
  • Communicate and provide relevant training, job aids, and customer-facing content to sales, customer success, and Deal Ops
  • Conduct market research, stay on top of trends, and regularly share insights with executive team
  • Experiment with promotional activities and offers to rapidly respond to market dynamics
  • Define & report on pricing KPIs, measure the effectiveness of pricing & packaging changes and experiments, and proactively make optimization recommendations
  • Craft and ensure adherence to a P&P playbook to scale best practices and accelerate time-to-market
  • Build and develop a small team of high-performing pricing & packaging employees

 

What you bring to the team

  • 10+ years experience in pricing and packaging, monetization, strategy and/or management consulting
  • 5+ years of specific experience in packaging and pricing for enterprise technology, ideally B2B SaaS
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to drive alignment and decision-making with senior executives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a monetization vision for a large portfolio of products and solutions, and success executing against it
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely decisions, balancing analysis with speed
  • Experience navigating complex org dynamics to deliver on your priorities cross-functionally
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop a high performing team that executes with excellence
  • Strong understanding of value-based pricing theories and knowledge of market trends
  • Strong analytical and data analysis skills

Seismic’s annual base salary range for this position will vary based on applicant’s location, experience, job level, skills, and abilities as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The range listed below is the minimum to the maximum of our target hiring range. ​​

This position is also eligible to participate in Seismic’s incentive plans in addition to base salary. The actual incentive amount will vary and will be subject to the terms and conditions set in the applicable incentive plan.

$187,100$322,900 USD
